The history of Banca Akros has its origins in Akros Finanziaria, later Akros Attimo SIM. Banca Sella Holding Spa is the parent company of the Gruppo Sella. It has full legal continuity with Banca Sella Spa, founded in 1886, and it is the company of the Gruop that that develpes all the activities concerning access to markets, interbank relations, trading of financial instruments, funding on the markets, treasury and all activities related to finance and payment systems.
The history. Quintino Sella (1827-1884), Minister of Finace in Italy during the Risorgimento and member of a family of entrepreneurs and innovators active since the XVI century in the textile sector in the Biella area, is considered the inspirer of the idea of founding an institute of credit. On 23 August 1886 "Gaudenzio Sella & C." was established and Gaudenzio Sella (1860-1934), Quintino’s nephew, headed the bank for the first 50 years. The Limited Liability Partnership created in 1886 was transformed into a Limted Partnership in 1937. In 1949 the bank became a Joint Stock Company. In 1992 the Gruppo Banca Sella was born. Today, 123 years after the foundation, the Gruppo Sella, still controlled by the heirs of the founders, keeps the characteristics of indipendence and entrepreneurship that inspired its birth.
